Subcontract Module Overview

Content Introduction:

This tutorial will give you an overview of the information available in the Subcontract module.

The Subcontract module is usually accessed by choosing Maintain > Subcontract from the menu bar or by clicking on the shortcut button:

After performing a search for a proposal, you can open it from the search results by double-clicking on it or clicking on the display button:

The subcontract’s information will appear in a new window. Note that the window's title bar tells you that you are displaying a subcontract, the subcontract's number, and its sequence number. You'll also notice that this window has several tabs across the top.

The tabs help to logically group the information. A picture of the information available on each tab is below. Notes are provided for clarification.

Subcontract tab

This tab contains basic information about the subcontract. The Seq No field displays the sequence number of the subcontract. Every time a subcontract is revised, a new sequence number is created.

Funding Source tab

This tab contains information about the award(s) that fund the subcontract. Medusa can be opened for one of these awards by clicking on the award, then clicking on the Medusa button.

Amount Info tab

This tab contains information about the obligated and anticipated funds related to the subcontract.

Amount Released tab

This tab is only used to record the subcontract's purchase order number, which is recorded in the Comments column. Ignore all other fields on this screen.

Contacts tab

This tab contains information about contacts related to the contract. The white pointing hand (top-left) indicates the currently selected contact. Details about the selected contact are shown at the bottom. Click on a different contact at the top to see the details associated with that contact. Note that the bottom section allows you to scroll down to see more.

Closeout tab

This tab shows how and when the subcontract was closed out.

Other tab

This tab displays whether the payment type is cost-reimbursable or fixed price.
