Sorting Search Results

Content Introduction:

Coeus searches can sometimes return hundreds of results. To help you find what you are looking for, you can sort the resutls by the information contained in each field.

The simplest way to sort search results is to click on the column header by which you wish to sort the results. The first time you click on the column header, the results will sort according to that column in ascending order. If you click on it again, they will sort in descending order.

If you want to sort by more than one column, use the sorting dialog box. You can access it by choosing File > Sort or by clicking on the shortcut button:

To tell Coeus how you want the results sorted, drag a column header from the left side to the right side. If you wish to remove a header from the list, drag it to the left side. To sort in ascending order, mark the checkbox. To sort in descending order, make sure the checkbox is not marked.

When you have the headers arranged in the Sort dialog box the way you want them, click OK. The records will be sorted in the order you have designated.

In all Coeus search results screens, the width of the columns can be adjusted. To adjust them, move your mouse between the column headers until your pointer arrow changes to a black two-way arrow. Click and drag the column edge to the desired width.
