Advantage

Advantage is the financial accounting system used by Arizona State University faculty and staff to order goods and services, bill departments for goods and services provided, and financially manage State, Local, and Sponsored Program research accounts.

Advantage web reports provide financial information in user-friendly financial statement formats from the Data Warehouse over the web. These web reports are updated nightly and can be accessed online and printed or downloaded into excel files for analysis and customized report creation. The same rules of disclosure and usage apply to these reports as to other reports from the Data Warehouse.

Coeus

Coeus is a computer system that stores information about proposals, awards, sponsors, and more. This information can be searched and sorted in many useful ways. It is all maintained in a centralized database at ASU, which Coeus accesses over a network.

Coeus does more than just store information, however. It can also be used to generate documents like award notices and cover letters, obtain approvals electronically, and even send proposals directly to a sponsor.

Control-D

Control-D allows online access to production reports, including HRMS, Advantage, and Sponsored. It also allows for creation of unique reports based on designated search parameters.

Human Resources Management System (HRMS)

The HRMS is a mainframe computer system used to record all personnel actions. Employees whose job duties require them to make inquiries to the HRMS system or to update HRMS information can obtain either inquiry access or update access. Inquiry access allows an employee to view information in certain screens whereas update access allows an employee to enter information on screens that relate specifically to their job responsibilities. Access is determined by the employee's supervisor and based on the department's business needs.

SciQuest

SciQuest provides a web-based, modular suite of e-Procurement, supplier management, and materials management solutions. SciQuest's spend management solutions improve user adoption and productivity, promote contract compliance, increase spend visibility and integrate with existing financial and ERP solutions.

Space Survey

The space survey records information about ASU's facilities and their usage. It is important to maintain accurate space records. ASU uses the information to:

• generate reliable 7-11 reports for the Arizona Board of Regents
• negotiate favorable F&A rates for sponsored projects
• respond to space-related inquiries within ASU and externally to the federal government, state legislature, other universities, organizations, and the general public.
